It was another rough day at the office for the Milwaukee Brewers Thursday.  A couple of fielding errors and a bad day at the plate lead to the Brewers 5-4 loss to the Chicago Cubs.  The Cubs take the three game series 2-1.

Starter Wily Peralta didn’t have great day but didn’t get much help either.  He allowed 7-runs, only 3-earned, on 8-hits in 5-innings of work.  His record falls to 5-9 on the season.

Matt Garza shined on the hill for Chicago.  He allowed 1-run while scattering 8-hits and striking out 10-Brewers.  Dioner Navarro’s 3-run 3rd inning home run was the big hit for Cubs pushing a 3-0 lead to 6-0.

Offensively for the Brewers, Juan Francisco homered for the 3rd straight game.  Aramis Ramirez also added a pair of hits for the second straight game.  He now has multiple hits in 3 of his last 4 starts.  Milwaukee was just 1 of 7 with runners in scoring position.

The loss sends Milwaukee back to last place in the National Central, one game behind the Cubs at 32-45.  A tough week lies ahead for the Brewers as they head to Pittsburgh for the weekend followed by a four-game set in Washington.  The Pirates have won 6-straight and are tied with St. Louis for first in the NL Central.
